Who provides Clutrel
Clutrel is a macOS storage and cleanup utility provided by Aflarion. This policy describes the app's current behavior. Aflarion does not require you to create a Clutrel account.
Files and folder access
Scanning and cleanup run on your Mac. Clutrel reads file metadata and supported file contents where a feature requires it, within the locations and permissions available to the app. Folder selection uses macOS permissions and security-scoped bookmarks stored locally. File names, paths and scan contents are not routinely uploaded to Aflarion's servers for scanning.
Cleanup and recovery records
The app stores local operation records, file locations, identity information and outcomes to support safe cleanup and recovery. These records can include file names and paths. Moving an item to Trash is not the same as permanently erasing it. Recovery depends on the recorded evidence and the current state of the file; it is not guaranteed for every item.
Local diagnostics and performance
Clutrel can keep crash reports, scan timings, memory measurements and macOS MetricKit diagnostics locally to help investigate reliability. Local diagnostic records may contain technical details or file paths. The current app does not automatically send these local reports to an Aflarion analytics backend. Review any report before voluntarily sending it to support, and remove private information you do not wish to share.
Apple purchases and platform diagnostics
Apple processes subscriptions and payments. Clutrel receives StoreKit transaction and entitlement information needed to determine access; Aflarion does not receive your payment card details. Apple may separately provide app analytics or crash reports under its platform settings and policies. TestFlight testing has its own diagnostic-sharing behavior. Apple's privacy policy governs Apple's processing.
Network requests and external links
Features that require a network connection, such as StoreKit purchases, supported product-information requests, or links you open, communicate with their respective providers. Those providers can receive ordinary request information, such as an IP address and requested product identifier. Opening the support website or sending email is separate from local file scanning and is subject to the relevant website or email provider's policy.
The widget and local preferences
Clutrel and its macOS widget can share a local app-group snapshot, such as storage and memory summaries, cleanup dates and app settings. This sharing stays on your device; it is not a public feed of your files.
Advertising and tracking
The current Clutrel app has no advertising SDK, does not use an advertising identifier, and does not sell your personal data or use your scan results for cross-app advertising tracking.
Retention and your choices
Preferences, bookmarks, recovery information and diagnostic files remain in app-managed local storage, subject to the app's retention limits where implemented. You can decline folder access and manage permissions through macOS. Removing local recovery records may limit recovery, so preserve any records you still need. Support correspondence is retained as needed to respond to your request; do not send sensitive file contents unnecessarily.
Updates and contact
We update this policy when the app's data practices change and publish the effective date above. If we introduce optional remote diagnostics, we will describe the data and choices before enabling that collection. For privacy questions, contact support@aflarion.com
